Brian Fries, PhD

Researcher

I completed my Ph.D. in 2024 in the lab of Dr. Amanda Hummon here at OSU, focusing on using proteomics and phosphoproteomics to study colorectal cancer spheroids. In the CCIC, I work on untargeted proteomics as well as proteomics bioinformatics. I have extensive experience using both data-dependent acquisition (DDA) and data-independent acquisition (DIA) for collecting proteomics data. My expertise is in enriching, collecting, and analyzing phosphoproteomics data as well as many other types of post-translational modifications. I also have extensive knowledge and utility of the statistical programming language R to conduct bioinformatic analysis of proteomics datasets.
