Metabolomics

We provide investigators access to advanced mass spectrometry instrumentation and workflows for targeted and untargeted analyses.

Services

Our facility provides comprehensive metabolomic analysis services using state-of-the-art equipment, including:

  • Sample preparation
    • We accept a wide range of different samples in varying levels of complexity. We offer a range of sample handling services to properly prepare samples for downstream analysis, including lysis and homogenization, protein precipitation, and extraction.
  • Untargeted metabolomics and lipidomics
    • We can provide untargeted metabolomic and lipidomic profiling and discern differences between sample groups. We can employ positive or negative mode ionization and different separation methods (reverse phase, HILIC etc) depending on the compounds of interest.
  • Targeted compound quantification
    • We provide targeted compound quantification using a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer (Agilent 6495D). The use of heavy labeled standards and a calibration curve enables absolute quantification studies to be performed. We can perform these studies using either positive or negative mode ionization, and using a variety of separation methods (reverse phase, HILIC etc), optimzied for your compounds of interest.

State-of-the-Art Instrumentation

Our metabolomics instrumentation includes:

  • Agilent 6495D
  • Thermo Exploris 480
  • Thermo Q Exactive plus

These advanced instruments don't just collect data—they reveal the unique chemical fingerprints within intricate metabolomic samples with exceptional reliability.
